WHO WE ARE
We are an East Bay non-profit volunteer organization giving youth in the Contra Costa County juvenile justice system a second chance through our scholarship program, paid internships, and youth mentoring programs. Since 1955, our support has enabled our young people to finish high school, attend college or vocational certification programs, get workforce training, and successfully re-enter their communities as productive adults. Every year we employ Interns who work in our own Hall Closet Thrift Store as well as support dozens of scholars in our Scholarship Program.
The Chief Philip Kader Annual Walk is our marquis event and is all about the community coming together — to fundraise for, and celebrate our youth who are making positive change in their lives to become productive members of the community. The walk, held annually every October in Martinez, CA, is named after retired Chief Probation Officer, Philip Kader, who has been a huge supporter of Juvenile Hall Auxiliary. |
Chief Kader has been committed to the support of public safety by providing evidence-based prevention, investigation and supervision services.
The walk is a 5M walk/run fun filled event for the entire family to come together to make a difference in the lives of “at risk” youth who are seeking a second chance to become productive citizens. In 2017, over 1,000 youth were admitted into the Contra Costa County juvenile justice system. As a corporate sponsor, you are investing in supporting youth with a second chance. Your support helps Juvenile Hall Auxiliary continue to be an important resource for youth being released from the Contra Costa County juvenile justice system. |

Every year we host a 5 mile walk to raise funds that benefit the lives of young adults re-entering society, in our life changing Auxiliary Programs.
This year's Walk highlights our Auxiliary Scholars! The Auxiliary is currently supporting over a dozen young men and women in college. Since 1955, our support has allowed young people to follow their dreams to become pilots, teachers, business owners, nurses and even members of law enforcement. The walk is named after Chief Probation Officer, Philip Kader, who has been a huge supporter of Juvenile Hall Auxiliary. Chief Kader is committed to the support of public safety by providing evidence-based prevention, investigation and supervision services, as well as to provide a safe environment for our staff and those placed in our custodial care. The Auxiliary gratefully acknowledges Probation's support of our work. Together we raise over $10,000 each year from the Chief Kader Walk! |
